These Terms and Conditions of Sale (T&Cs) govern sales made by AstroRemote Systems through its website regarding the AURORA 2.0 controller and related products.
1. Purpose
These T&Cs define the conditions applicable to the sale of AstroRemote Systems products to private customers and associations located in France and within the European Union.
2. Products
AURORA 2.0 is a roll-off roof controller for amateur astronomy observatories, delivered ready to use with the cables and accessories required for operation.
The product notably includes:
– an electronic controller,
– proprietary firmware,
– ASCOM drivers,
– the AURORA 2.0 Utility software for Windows,
– installation documentation.
The product is intended exclusively for amateur astronomy use.
Products sold by AstroRemote Systems comply with European regulations applicable at the time they are placed on the market.
3. Compatibility and Software Environment
AURORA 2.0 is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Operation with third-party software such as N.I.N.A., ASCOM, or any other automation software also depends on updates and configurations of those third-party programs.
AstroRemote Systems does not guarantee permanent compatibility with third-party software, modified systems, beta versions, virtualized environments, or non-standard configurations.
4. Installation and Use
The customer is solely responsible for the installation, wiring, configuration, and use of the product.
Installation must be carried out in accordance with the provided documentation.
Any wiring error, incorrect power supply, incorrect sensor positioning, hardware modification, or improper use excludes any support under after-sales service or warranty when the defect results from such misuse.
The use of a human monitoring system and camera surveillance is strongly recommended, especially in cases of automation or remote operation.
5. Automation and Safety
AURORA 2.0 is not a safety device.
The product does not natively manage weather conditions, obstacle detection, anti-collision protection, or physical installation safety systems.
The customer remains solely responsible for automated sequences, remote commands, and all consequences related to opening or closing the observatory roof.
The use of limit switches, mechanical safety systems, and emergency stop devices is strongly recommended.
6. Firmware and Modifications
Only official AstroRemote Systems firmware is authorized.
Any attempt to modify the firmware, bypass software protections, open the enclosure, or electronically modify the product will void after-sales support and any warranty coverage related to the modified product.
7. Orders and Pre-orders
Orders are validated after full payment has been received.
Some sales may be conducted as pre-orders due to the handcrafted and limited nature of production.
Delivery times are provided for informational purposes only.
8. Pricing and Payment
Prices for our products are indicated in Euros (€). In accordance with the micro-business tax status, VAT is not applicable under Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
The price displayed on the website at the time of purchase is the final and definitive price. It includes:
– Product cost
– Preparation and packaging fees
– Shipping costs
No additional fees will be added during checkout.
Payment is due immediately upon ordering.
9. Shipping
Deliveries are made from France to countries within the European Union.
Shipments are sent with tracking and signature confirmation upon delivery.
The customer must verify the condition of the package upon receipt and immediately report any issue to both the carrier and AstroRemote Systems.
Shipping Times:
AstroRemote Systems undertakes to ship orders according to the following timelines:
– In-stock products: shipped within 3 business days after order validation and full payment.
– Pre-order products: shipped within a maximum of 30 days (unless otherwise stated on the product page) after pre-order validation and full payment. Pre-orders are fulfilled in the order received.
A confirmation email including tracking information will be sent once the package has been handed over to the carrier.
For orders to overseas territories (DOM-TOM) or countries outside the European Union, customers are invited to contact AstroRemote Systems beforehand using the contact form.
Outside the European Union or for overseas territories, any order accepted by AstroRemote Systems may be subject to taxes, customs duties, or import fees imposed by local legislation. These charges are exclusively the responsibility of the customer, including all declarations and payments to the relevant authorities. The seller is not required to verify or inform customers about applicable customs duties or taxes.

10. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with applicable law, private customers have a legal withdrawal period of 14 days from the date of product receipt.
Cancellation After Shipment
If the customer exercises the right of withdrawal after the order has already been handed over to the carrier, the return procedure applies. The customer will then be responsible for return shipping costs. If the package is refused upon delivery, return fees charged by the carrier will be deducted from the final refund.
Product Condition
The product must be returned complete, with all accessories and in its original packaging (dedicated box), in new condition suitable for resale. Any product showing signs of use, damage, missing components, or depreciation resulting from handling beyond simple inspection may be subject to a proportional deduction from the refund.
Return Responsibility and Conditions
Return shipping costs remain entirely the responsibility of the customer. Returns are shipped at the customer’s own risk; in case of loss or damage during transport, AstroRemote Systems will not issue a refund.
Customers are therefore strongly advised to use tracked shipping with signature confirmation and insurance corresponding to the value of the product.
Refunds will only be processed after receipt and inspection of the returned product.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer may use the standard withdrawal form attached as an appendix to these T&Cs.
11. Legal Warranty
Products benefit from the legal warranties provided under the French Consumer Code and Civil Code.
The warranty does not cover:
– installation errors,
– incorrect wiring,
– hardware or software modifications,
– damage caused by improper use,
– third-party software,
– issues originating from the customer’s computer environment.
12. After-Sales Service and Support
Technical support is provided exclusively by email.

After-sales service is provided in the form of repair only.
Shipping costs to AstroRemote Systems are the responsibility of the customer.
Repair processing times are provided for informational purposes only and may take up to 60 days depending on the nature of the intervention.
13. Supplied Software
The supplied software, drivers, and utilities are provided “as is”.
AstroRemote Systems does not guarantee the complete absence of bugs, interruptions, or future incompatibilities resulting from external updates or third-party software.
14. Liability
AstroRemote Systems shall not be held liable for material damage, data loss, business interruption, or indirect consequences resulting from:
– improper installation,
– automated operation,
– remote usage,
– lack of supervision,
– software or hardware incompatibility,
– product modification,
– indirect consequences related to a possible product malfunction.
The customer remains solely responsible for how the product is used.
15. Intellectual Property
All software, firmware, drivers, documentation, visuals, diagrams, trademarks, and content provided by AstroRemote Systems remain the exclusive property of AstroRemote Systems.
Any reproduction, modification, redistribution, reverse engineering, extraction, or partial or total exploitation without prior written authorization is prohibited.
16. Personal Data
Collected personal data is used solely for order processing and customer support purposes.
Customers have the right to access, correct, and delete their data in accordance with GDPR regulations.
17. Applicable Law
These T&Cs are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties will seek an amicable resolution before initiating legal proceedings.
